Stitching Carousel

Contact us

Root crops, such as potatoes, are harvested and packaged into pockets to a weight of 5kg or 10kg. The pockets are normally stitched closed by an industrial sewing machine that is mounted on a stitching carousel.

Such a carousel consists of pocket holders that are movably mounted on a frame and joined to a chain conveyor.

During use, a filled open pocket is placed into a pocket holder and the open end of the pocket is guided through the sewing machine so that the pocket is stitched closed. The chain conveyor then transports the pocket holder to a subsequent station on the frame for further processing, e.g, labelling or packaging onto a pallet in a palletizer.
